Audiobooks probably fit in this somewhere also, but here goes. Sometimes we just don’t have the time or the space to sit down and read another book, so we listen some people talk about things.
One of my favourite podcasts for a few years running now has been Terry O’Reilly’s Under the Influence Podcast on the CBC. Its witty commentary and fabulous production value keep me perpetually inspired and entertained. Whether it’s a cautionary tale about using test markets, a brief history of skywriting advertisements or a wrap-up of the year’s best radio advertisements, Terry O’Reilly has a wonderful way with words.
I’ve also recently listened to a bunch of podcasts from For Your Innovation, and while I’m not a hundred percent sold on the Ark Invest group, some of the podcasts are great. Lots of information is being shared by top people in the industries, though it’s worth listening cautiously as the interviewers and interviewees tend to be very bullish on whatever new technology they’re talking about.
There are also a bunch of boardgame podcasts, as I’m a bit of a boardgame nerd who is fascinated with boardgame design. So, boardgame barrage, the board game design lab and brainwaves… with a few more sitting in the wings. Yup, it’s a bit of an obsession, and definitely not related to bagel making, but so it goes.
